Eight Tips For Saving Gas

  1. Drive Sensibly:Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent around town.
  2. Observe the speed limit:At 65 mph, going another 5 mph faster can lower gas mileage by 5%.
  3. Keep tires properly inflated: Can increase gas mileage by 3%.
  4. Remove Excess Weight: An extra 100 pounds in your trunk could reduce gas mileage by 2%.
  5. Avoid excessive idling: Idling wastes gas.
  6. Combine your errands: Thinking ahead and planning your trips can avoid unnecessary driving and save both time and gas.
  7. Think "car pool": When going to events, commuting to work, or whatever, consider car-pooling with others.
  8. Walk or bike: For local errands and short trips, yo can save gas and help you health by walking or biking.
